Distinction Energy and Kiwetinohk Resources purchased Ovintiv’s assets in the Simonette area of Alberta for $335 million. The acquisition has significant potential in both the Montney and Duvernay formations and currently produces oil and liquids-rich natural gas. Production was approximately 10,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, weighted 43 percent to liquids.
