Summer Student Geologist Position

McDaniel and Associates is an Oil and Gas Consulting firm specializing in reserve evaluations, resource assessments, geological and field optimization studies and carbon sequestration.  McDaniel has an opening for a summer student geologist.  The candidate will have finished their second or third year with a major in geology or earth science.  The Company is regarded as an industry leader for their technical and business acumen with experience encompassing both domestic and international evaluations in conventional and unconventional reservoirs.  The firm is comprised of professional engineers, geologists and software developers assisted by a group of experienced technical and support staff.

As a summer student at McDaniel you will be exposed to conventional, unconventional and emerging projects within the oil and gas, carbon sequestration and machine learning business. Preference will be given to self-motivated candidates.  The successful candidate will have strong academic records, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work well within an integrated team.  You will be joining a fast paced team of professionals dedicated to helping McDaniel clients be successful in their business.

Specific Responsibilities

• Maintaining geological and reservoir engineering databases
• Compiling relevant geological data
• Geological play mapping
• Conventional and unconventional resource analysis
• Carbon sequestration assessment
• Providing support for geologists and reservoir engineers

Requirements

• Completed second or third year at a Canadian University
• The role is based out of McDaniel Calgary’s office
• Self-starter capable of working independently
• Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
